Daniel Del Olmo

President and COO, Sage Hotel Management

Daniel del Olmo is President of Sage Hotel Management, where he is responsible for leading a team of about 6,000 associates across an award-winning portfolio of over 50 branded, lifestyle and luxury hotels and nearly 12,000 guest rooms in 12 states. His focus is to deliver on Sage’s goal of creating places people go to, not through and enriching guests’ lives one experience at a time.

Daniel is a passionate hospitality leader with more than 20 years of experience in growing hospitality brands and nurturing successful partnerships in more than 70 countries around the world. Daniel joined Sage from the Passionality Group, a company he cofounded that has a focus on advising and investing in emerging hospitality brands that invoke genuine passion, represent authentic hospitality innovation and exhibit meaningful potential for growth.
Prior to the Passionality Group, Daniel was CEO of Disruptive Group, a $500M subsidiary of lifestyle hospitality company sbe. Daniel was responsible for a 140-venue global portfolio of award-winning restaurant and nightlife brands including The Bazaar by José Andrés, modern Japanese brand Katsuya, Mediterranean brand Cleo, Umami Burger, Michael Schwartz’s Fi’lia, Hyde, Doheny Room, SKYBAR and more.

His expansive career includes four years as President at Dine Brands Global and an 11-year tenure with Wyndham Hotel Group, where he held multiple senior and executive-level roles including Senior Vice President & Managing Director for Latin America, leading a portfolio of more than 115 hotels and seven brands in 11 countries, Chief Performance Officer and Brand Senior Vice President, TRYP by Wyndham Hotels.

In 2020, Daniel was named to the list of most influential restaurant CEOs by Nation’s Restaurant News. He was a recipient of Hotel News Now’ Hospitality Innovators’ Award and the Chairman’s 2012 ‘WYN Together’ recognition for exceptional collaboration amongst Wyndham Worldwide’s business units. While at Melia Hotels International, he was named “Rising Star” by Travel Agent magazine in 1999, 2000, and 2001. Daniel is also an active member of YPO.

He is a Belgian native, speaks six languages, including Spanish, Dutch, French, Italian and Portuguese. He graduated from University of Hasselt in 1996 with a degree in Applied Economic Sciences and in 1997 with a Master of Business Administration degree.
